Universal Gift About This Painting Universal Gift was my first in this series of celestial art paintings inspired by images from the Hubble telescope. Although I realize that the universe is only part of what we refer to as God, it is as close as I think I can come to painting a portrait of God. The universe and the stars have inspired awe in mankind ever since he first looked towards the heavens. Are those heavens are populated by beings who war with each other and interfere in the affairs of men? Or is the universe the expression of one force, one God, one Creator? Personally, I am of the latter opinion, but the colorful tales of ancient civilizations are fascinating nonetheless. For me, the blending of colors and forms in this painting reflect my belief that only one Source is expressed in myriad ways to create all of the energy and matter that we experience as the universe.
