About This Painting

I went on an art outing with a local painting organization and we had the joy of painting in a garden at a home just outside of town. The gardens were incredible and all the more enjoyable because they were partially cultivated and partially wild. I had at least three of my children along, so I couldn't paint the flowers on site, but took lots of photos to use when I was back in my studio. My favorite photos were of poppies blooming amoung old, grey and gnarled trees. This painting is one of the fruits of that trip. Learn more about flower meanings in my flower symbols book.
