Poppies Against the Sky
12X12" About This Painting I remember laying on the grass behind my home as a child and trying to position myself so that I couldn't see the ground, but could still see trees against the sky as I looked out over the open space. In this case, the emphasis is on the silhouette of poppies against the sky, but the principle is the same. There's something freeing about seeing things disconnected from the ground as though they could fly away on a moment's notice like a helium balloon up into the atmosphere.
