About This Painting

This painting is an ode to the beauty of the sunflower, my most recent favorite flower! The sunflower grows wild all over Montana and has been useful historically for food as well as aesthetics (see articles on Sunflowers Pictures and Uses of Sunflowers below). This painting is in a batik canvas style, with gold edges around each petal, leaf and shape.I have recently innovated this approach for flowers with strong shpes and bold patterns.
